Privacy Policy
The short version. OneTruck does not collect your data, because it cannot. Your expenses, receipts, income and mileage are written to a database on your phone and never leave it. The app does not even hold the Android permission required to use the internet.
Who we are
OneTruck is an Android app for owner-operators running a single truck. In this policy, "the app" means OneTruck and "we" means its developer. Contact: 7heavenlabs@gmail.com.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter is stored locally on your device, in the app's private storage area that other apps cannot read:
- Expenses - amount, date, category, note
- Receipt photos - the images you take, saved as files on the phone
- Income - amount, date, note
- Fuel purchases - gallons, amount, jurisdiction
- Trips and mileage - distance travelled per US or Canadian jurisdiction, for IFTA
- Odometer readings you type in
- Filing deadlines you keep, and your app settings
- Business details you choose to enter in Settings - company name, USDOT number, unit number and VIN - used to fill in your reports and filing dates
- An access code, if you were given one and entered it in Settings - kept only as a one-way fingerprint, never as the code itself
None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We have no server holding your records, no account to sign up for, and no way to look at what you have entered.
Location
The app asks for location permission for one purpose: to count the miles you drive in each state or province while a trip is recording, which is what an IFTA return requires. Location is used only while you have explicitly started a trip, and a permanent notification is shown the whole time so it is never running unnoticed.
Location data is turned into mileage totals stored on your phone. The app itself sends your position nowhere: it is not sent to us, not stored as a route history for us to see, and not used for advertising or analytics.
One thing happens outside the app, and you should know it. To tell which state or province a point is in, the app asks Android's built-in geocoding service. On most phones that service is provided by Google and may look the coordinate up over the network. That lookup is made by your phone's system service, not by OneTruck, and it is covered by Google's privacy policy.
You can stop a trip at any time, and you can revoke the permission in Android settings. The rest of the app - expenses, income, deadlines - keeps working without it.
Camera
The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a receipt. The photo is saved to the app's private storage on your phone.
Data we collect about you
None. There is no analytics, no advertising SDK, no crash reporting service, no tracking identifier, and no third party receiving your information from the app.
If you have allowed your phone to share usage and diagnostics with Google, Android itself may report it to Google when the app crashes. We see such reports only as anonymous totals in the Google Play Console, and they contain none of your records.
Should this ever change, this policy will be updated before the change ships, and the app will ask before collecting anything.
Sharing and exporting
The app can export your records so you can send them to your accountant or file your return: tables of your income, expenses, trips and miles as CSV files, a one-page IFTA sheet as a PDF, a file in the format a state's IFTA portal accepts, and, if you choose, a ZIP of your receipt photos. An export happens only when you ask for it, and you choose where the files go using Android's own share screen. Once you send a file somewhere, it is governed by that service's privacy policy, not this one.
Backups
Automatic cloud backup is deliberately switched off, so your books are not copied to Google Drive or to us. Instead the app gives you a backup you control.
Settings, then Backup, then Save a backup. You get one file containing everything - expenses, income, miles, deadlines and your receipt photos - and you choose where it goes: Drive, an SD card, a USB stick, your laptop. Restoring from that file puts it all back, on this phone or on a new one.
Two things worth knowing:
- The backup file is the only copy that survives losing the phone. Save one now and then and keep it somewhere that is not the phone. Nothing does this automatically for you.
- The export is a different thing. It is a copy of your figures for your accountant - tables, and your receipt photos if you choose to send them. It cannot be read back into the app. Use the backup file for keeping your records, and the export for sending them to someone.
Payments
OneTruck is a subscription: $25 a month or $199 a year, with the first 15 days free, renewing until you cancel it in Google Play. The payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card details, and Google's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app asks the Google Play Store app on your phone. What Google receives for the purchase, it receives through Google Play under its own policy; OneTruck adds nothing of yours to it.
Children
OneTruck is a business tool for commercial drivers and is not directed at children under 13.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app removes its database and receipt photos from your phone. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for you to request deletion of from us, and no request to make. If you want a copy of your records first, export them before uninstalling.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data held about you. You already have all of those directly: the data is on your device, you can edit it in the app, export it as CSV, and delete it by uninstalling. We hold no copy, so there is no separate request to make.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
